Dévoile Yourself

You probably remember Manon from our street style in Harajuku. When we first noticed her, our thought was that she is an actual model. Her #ootd was perfectly composed; like any street style star would have. Therefore, without the hint of a doubt we had to approach her.

We found out that Manon is a young Japanese-French vocalist. She was in fact working on her music video the day we took the Face snap. She comes from Fukuoka and has just released her third single “WAVY PINEAPPLES DAYS”. It is quite an achievement for a 15 year old to have already three singles recorded. So we met with Manon and her producer YUPPA_HNC to get to know Manon and her story better.

1. How do you define yourself?

I am a singer.

2. How your career started and what have changed since then?

I started my career around 3 years ago in a junior high school as a model. At that time I only wanted to be recognizable by other teenagers, I wanted to be famous, but now with the release of my singles (“Fancy Pool”, “Wavy Pineapple Days” ) I know that I want to be famous for something special. And this something special is my singing.

3. What is the most challenging for you?

I am a shy person so at the beginning it was a bit challenging to do public performances but after a second one I got used to that.

Also at first I had some difficulties juggling between my school life and stage life, but now it is getting better and better.

4. Do you write your songs by yourself?

I do it in understanding with my producer.

5. How do you see yourself in 10 years?

I would like to gradually become more and more famous singer, maybe overseas too.

6. What is your life motto?

Being relaxed and listening to my beloved mom.

7. What are the things you cannot live without?

My precious cat - Milou.

8. What is your favourite place?

My home in Fukuoka.

1. How did you meet Manon?

Actually after seeing Manon’s instagram I got a feeling that we would work well together and later my company asked me to become her producer. So it was a beautiful coincidence.

2. What do you do as a producer? And what is your inspiration?

Oh, I am responsible for many things like: composing the songs, writing the lyrics and dealing with album designs. Most of the time my inspiration comes from the world around me: books that I read, things that I see, people that I meet, etc.

3. How long does it take to produce one song?

From about 5 hours to a very very long time, maybe even like half a year. Depending on a song complexity.
